A Pattern Language - one recommendation.

I'm sure I'm the very last person on a long list of folks who have recommended this amazing book but I still feel it's my duty to share with anyone who might read my blog but hasn't heard of it.

"A Pattern Language" by Christopher Alexander is an amazing insight into human behavior, lifestyles, emotions, and physical needs. It is about the connections between spaces, people, light, and language and many more things besides. For me it has been especially powerful having just read another great book called "The User Illusion" I find myself drawing comparisons and relationships between the human mind and the ways that we live that are helping reshape my view of our place in the world.

I have the incredible Will Wright to thank for the implicit recommendation. The fact that this book helped start his career as a super genius game designer and programmer was more than enough to get me to pick it up.

Anyways, just thought I would share,

Cheers.

PS: If you're out there Will let's have lunch sometime.

New house!

Welp it's looking more and more like I will soon be the owner of a new house! I'm not going to jinx it by saying it's actually mine yet, but things are looking promising. Pictures will follow when the deal is done. I have an inspector coming on tuesday who will likely tell me that the fence needs work and the paint on some outside trim is a little worn.

Anyone out there want to help me build a fence? It's barely a hundred degrees out there, and I'll provide bottomless lemonade and corn chips... should be quite pleasant... really.
